Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Fast Fuel Vehicle Fuel

Below are answers to the most common questions we're asked about providing residential and commercial heating oil to your home and business.

TOP TIER™ Detergent Gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Fuels with lower-quality additive packages that can build up deposits on fuel injectors and on intake valves and build up deposits in combustion chambers and may lead to intake valve sticking. These lower levels of additives can have negative impacts on engine performance and vehicle responsiveness. TOP TIER™ Detergent Gasoline helps drivers avoid lower quality gasoline which can leave deposits on critical engine parts, reducing engine performance. With quality gasoline additives, our fuel cleans injectors, resulting in optimized fuel economy, maximized power and acceleration, and reduced emissions. Non-Ethanol gas is a must for all small and carbureted engines. Non-Ethanol fuel leaves no problematic residue or water in your system, which may cut down on repairs. Plus, the higher energy content may provide better fuel mileage.

E10 gas is a blend of 90% gasoline 10% ethanol (alcohol). Ethanol blended gas is said to produce less carbon monoxide than unblended gas. E10 gas is suitable for most newer vehicles.

We start with high-quality Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel, then add Power Service additives that improve lubricity, increase Cetane for easier starting, prevent cold-weather gelling, and clean injectors and deposits from your system. All of our Fast Fuel diesel is Premium Diesel.

Off road diesel is #2 diesel fuel with a red dye in it to indicate that it is for non-road use. Basically, there are no road taxes added to the cost of the fuel. Acme’s Heating Oil & Off Road, we use an ultra-low sulfur blend for a very clean burning fuel.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is an emissions control liquid required by modern diesel engines. It is injected into the exhaust stream. DEF is never added to diesel fuel. It is a non-hazardous solution of 32.5% urea in 67.5% de-ionized water. DEF is clear and colorless, and looks exactly like water. It has a slight smell of ammonia, similar to some home cleaning agents. DEF is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to remove harmful NOx emissions from diesel engines.
